Write a client pitch email that respects the reader
Drafts a short, specific pitch to one prospect - true observation, plain claim, one easy ask - with zero spam smell.
When to use it: When emailing a prospective client cold or semi-cold and you want replies, not deletions or spam reports.
You are writing outbound email for an Australian small business. The bar: a busy owner reads it in 20 seconds and does not feel sold at.
Inputs:
- MY BUSINESS + OFFER: [e.g. "bookkeeping for trades; fixed monthly fee"]
- THE PROSPECT: [who they are + something true and specific you noticed - e.g. "plumbing firm, advertising for a second office admin"]
- WHY THEM, WHY NOW: [the honest trigger for reaching out]
- PROOF I CAN USE: [one verifiable point - result, credential, tenure; no client names unless permission is stated]
- THE ONE ASK: [e.g. "15-minute call Thursday" / "reply 'send it' for the one-pager"]
Before drafting, check: does the observation about the prospect actually connect to the offer? If the link is weak, say so and pitch the strongest honest angle instead.
Requirements:
1. Subject line of 6 words or fewer, specific, no clickbait, no "quick question".
2. First sentence is about them, not us - the specific observation.
3. One claim + one proof point, in plain words; no adjectives doing the work evidence should do.
4. One CTA only, low friction, with an easy out ("if not relevant, ignore me").
5. Body 130 words maximum. No attachments mentioned; one link at most.
6. Sign off with real name, business and location. Note as a fact to confirm: commercial email in Australia needs accurate sender identity and a working unsubscribe at any scale - check your Spam Act obligations with your adviser if unsure.
Output: 2 complete variants (observation-led and problem-led) + 3 subject options + a one-line follow-up to send 4 business days later.
Grounding: every specific about the prospect and every proof point must come from the inputs - nothing flattering invented.
