Weekly Business Report
A 5-minute weekly habit that turns raw numbers into a decision. Same shape every week so you can see the trend, not just the snapshot.
When to use
Once a week (Friday or Monday), from your POS / bookings / bank / invoicing figures.
Setup (once)
- The 3-4 numbers you track (from your own dashboard) and where each comes from
- What 'good' vs 'worrying' looks like for each, as a direction
- Who reads the report (just you, or a team)
Instructions for Claude
1. Ask for this week's figures for the tracked numbers, plus last week's (or a rolling average) for comparison. 2. Produce: a one-line headline; each number with this-week vs last, the direction, and a plain read; what moved and the likely why (only if the data supports it); one thing worth watching; and one action for the week. 3. Keep it under a screen — scannable, not a spreadsheet dump.
Hard rules
Use only the figures provided — never invent a number or a benchmark. Separate 'the data shows' from 'this might be because'. Flag anything tax/financial as 'confirm with your accountant'. en-AU spelling.
